Casino Virgin

Macau is really NOT the place for Shopping and Eating. For 3days 2 nights, I've visited 6 Casinos.

The biggest one in Macau, which is the Venetian Macau (sister to The Venetian in Las Vegas) is GIGANTIC!I went to wiki-ed it and realise that it's the 3rd largest building in the world, and 1st largest in Asia.
My Casino Virgin Visit was given to such a magnificent place. I'm so honored.
I never gambled, but I did played a little of the Jackpot Machines.

Since there's nothing but Casinos in Macau, we crossed over to China, Zhu Hai for a little more variety of entertainment. We had a little bit of shopping done, had a Hair Wash for less than S$6 and classic manicure for less than S$4.
The food wasn't fantastic but it was better than Macau's.

On the overall, the best meal was in Venetian Macau, but since it's an upmarket place, there should be some standard quality.

Oh, the plane was TOTALLY BUDGET. I've never taken such a Small plane! Even domestic flights have bigger planes!
We had to walk in the open to board the plane!The arrival hall in the Budget Terminal is BUDGET TO THE MAX!
No air-con and travelator from the plane to the immigration.
and there's no 42 Below in the DFS! but I still managed to get Absolut Mango (:

Thankfully we only had 3days in Macau, because by the 3rd day, we really can't think of anything else to do.

The Real Reason Behind Na's Haven's M.I.A.
Maybe my mood is not the sole reason for the intermittent floods and silents in this blog. I see TVXQ's active-ness do affect how much I wish to blog.
TVXQ went back to Korea during my 1.5weeks of absence and all I got during the period were lousy fancams and fanpics.
Now that their new single has been released, they start appearing on shows in Japan and they've also made quite a few headlines as well.
TVXQ is Na's Life.

And just as when I'm getting hooked to blogging about them constantly in the past few days, I'm forced to take a break this weekend for a little getaway.
This is some sort of like my Birthday present from my Momma, and I'm still expecting a Great Meal from my Papa. I haven't thought of anywhere to dine yet, any suggestions from you?

Btw, I so don't wanna thank my friend, whose birthday is 8 days away from mine. Because everytime I read her MSN nick, I'm reminded of the remaining days I've left until I hit the Big 2.
Other than the presents I'm gonna get for my birthday, I don't think I'm looking forward to that day at all.

I'm getting emotional

There are things hidden in my heart that I can't bring myself to tell my family.
Since they assume that I always talk big and nonsensically, and we all know that I'm not the brightest person in the house.

I've never really told them why I wanna study abroad so badly. It always passed off as "because I want the experience".

Taking this diploma really opened up my mind. I see that the world is going global and if I want to survive with my limited brainpower in the future, I need to globalise myself. I've been shielded all my life without any financial worries. To add on to that, I feel like an overprotected Singaporean who has pretty much overestimated my own capabilities (in spite of the fact that I don't have much of it).

I'm not giving answers out of a Civics and Moral Education Textbook. Neither am I faking a matured state of mentality to prove my family wrong. Because I saw how naive I was when I actually considered living in the states alone, thinking that I can force myself to overcome obstacles when I'm there as a form of growing up.

I admit that my enlightenment was brought about through a pretty childish method. I saw my parent's worries and uncertainties after watching a movie. The movie depicts a true story of delinquents in a high school in the US, and how 1 teacher brought hope in their lives. I saw how kids in the US live their lives in fear everyday, and the life threatening dangers lurking in the streets of the night was part and parcel of the country. It's called "Freedom Writers" if you're interested. I highly recommend it to everyone.

I've taken my life for granted and now I need to know what it is like out there. I know I might probably get a chance to travel at work in the future, but I thought if I have the chance now, why not take the opportunity to prepare myself ahead of others. I see it as part of my process of growing up, and not just some academia obligation.

It still worries them that I would be doing this alone without any companion, but what they didn't realise is that I've been accustomed to stepping out of the safety zone and entering a foreign environment all alone.

I left Fairfield and entered Queensway as the only Fairsian. I made it clear during my PSLE that I do not want to follow my friends to Fairfield. That place and the people are not my cup of tea.

Then, I entered NP Biz alone. My friend's decisions were not in any of my considerations.

I'm living my life better than all the kids who ostracised me in school. They once made my life a living hell (quite a couple of times and I was always attacked alone), but I came back stronger and happier.

So you see, I do not succumb to peer pressure, which is how my parents see me as. I think it's time for life to get harsher so that I can become a better stronger person.

So far, the things I've learnt from different school politics:
Who cares about being nice. The way I see it, be sincere to those you cherish and entertain those that you need. For everyone else, keep a neutral heart. Even if he once kicked you in the ass, smile in front of him. Show him that you don't give a damn and the others will think that you're an angel.

An advice for a friend:
Hatred makes you look ugly. Either you hide it or you forget about it. If I were you, I would forget about it, since bearing grudges will make one feel uglier.
Let him hate all he wants, no point accompanying his stupidity.
You once taught me that, but I think you've kinda forgotten it yourself.

The usual,
Time will heal all wounds and let the scars trail behind.

I just realised that if I was writing a composition, I would be graded 0 for going out-of-point. *Sigh*

Guilty

On Sunday, my mom brought my didi to visit a Math Tutor in hopes of finding help for his 'A's. After dinner, my dad probed him about the trip, and he replied by saying that he has discussed the matter with my mom and he has other plans for his Math grades.
He didn't meant to be rude or disrespectful. I thought his voice was filled with fear rather than confidence. Fear in the form of respect for the man of the house.

My dad got dumbfounded because he knew nothing of the discussion between him and my mom, not because it was any mother-and-son secret, but my parents just haven't had the time to talk in private.

At that moment, he got alittle pissed and made a statement that seriously got my brother and I break out in cold sweat.

He said that he has no intention of sending my brother overseas and that he had to depend on himself. He has not prepared anything for my brother.

When my dad got those lines out, my brother and I fell silent for the rest of the night. I have no idea what went through his mind at that time, but I was hoping that my dad just said that out of frustration and that he didn't really meant what he said. On the other hand, I was worried for myself, because they never said outright that they were prepared to send me overseas. Everything up till now was only an "If".


Today, in the evening, the postman dropped by with good news to hear. UWA (University of Western Australia) sent me a letter of acceptance. I literally jumped for joy in front of my maid.

I thought of about who to share the news first and a bunch of people ran through my mind. I called my mom.
To my dismay, she sounded nonchalant, which brought me back to reality. Her not-excited-tone-of-voice made the conversation really awkward.

To make things worse, the letter of acceptance didn't look as perfect as I thought. I am offered a place in UWA, but not the place I've originally wanted.
I applied for Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) and I'm offered Bachelor of Economics.

Well, at least my dad made me feel slightly better when he made 1 comment after hearing of my acceptance. The first thing he said when he saw the letter was, "So you going to Australia?"

I went mute for a few seconds. Thoughts ran through my mind.
"He's willing to send me over?"
"What about what he said the other night?"
"What about my brother?"

and somehow, I felt like I needed to fill the silence. An indefinite answer would be suffice to temporarily stop any further discussisons.
I replied with, "They didn't offer me the degree that I wanted, so I think I should wait for the other letters. I have until 9 May."
and it did, he changed the subject.


I need to talk it out with my brother one day. This feeling of betrayal is killing me. I won't be able to go to Australia in peace if I don't get my brother's sincere blessings. He'll definitely blame me for ruining his chances even if my dad didn't meant whatever he said on Sunday night.
All because since we were little, there's this unspoken agreement that my mom favours my brother and my dad favours me.

And if you're asking about my other brother (the elder 1), since he's the eldest, my inexperienced parents basically brought him up very differently from the both of us. Well, in my opinion, he had his intelligence and independence to be blamed for. It kinda led my inexperienced parents to take his capabilities for granted ever since he was a child.

They only realised his excellence when they tried to raise me. So their actual parenting only officially started with me. When they start to realise that the least worrisome child has flaws as well, it was already too late.

Now all they can hope for is for his morals to not stray too far.

So much for "Life is Simple".

I realise that the more time I have on my hands, the more I end up doing nothing at all.
And the longer this last, the lazier I get.
Yes, so I tend to have more motivation to blog when I'm occupied.
Now the 1.5 weeks absence just means that I'm too lazy to do anything at all.

Samsung Customer Service
is still the same.
The system never changed since I last worked there.
They hire Filipino and as usual, they are not qualified to answer your questions. They pick up your calls, take down your name, number and problem, and pass it to another operator who should call you back.
As usual, only half of the customers receive their call.
The rest will call back to complain
and a handful like me will just ignore since I know the only choice I have is to call back and insist on an answer because complaints go nowhere in Samsung's Call Centre.

I don't feel like travelling now
I'm going to Macau next weekend, and I'm not excited anymore.
My mom didn't warn me that we were going to take Budget Airline.
Aish.... Now the tickets are booked, hotel arranged, and I can't back out anymore.
This is going to the worst ride ever!
Definitely worse than the China Airline I took to Shanghai previously.

Cheated
I've been complaining to those I've been hanging ard recently. Mostly people who have no relation with this incident.
Wells, I won't deny it's TVXQ related.

There was a TVXQ girl fan who's really active in Kpop forums.
She subbed tonnes of TVXQ videos, upload them on file host servers, joined GOE;SS (TVXQ subbing team) and shared first hand news, updates and pictures of TVXQ.
She loves Junsu,
We loved her.
She's more commonly known as Kayem (Kay).

Mid of last year, she started to announce her soon-to-be-inactivity in the forums. Friends and fans objected and plead for her to stay.
Soon, she reasoned that she's sick so she can't stay.
In December 2, 2007, Kayem's twin sister announced her death.

Friends and fans mourned her death.
5 months later, people are still trying to keep her threads and dl links alive.
They even sent messages (on UFO Town, a website for fans to talk to TVXQ) to Junsu, telling him about this super fan.
Junsu even replied, sending his condolences.
Everyone, including myself, was so touched.

And then.....

Last week, it was revealed that Kayem is not dead.
To be exact, Kayem didn't even existed.
Kayem was a made up character by a guy, one year younger than me.
His reason for doing this: It was an experiment, which he felt, was a Failed Success.

For 1+ years, this kid has been filling his live with TVXQ and entertaining fan girls like me in forums and youtube just for his so-called-experiment, which still amuses him.

After a few days of bashing from the fan girls he's lied to, he gave in and admitted that there was one point in time of the experiment, where he became a fan of TVXQ. He didn't mention this, but I assume that's it was short lived since he decided to end it by "dying".

Okays... I'm done being devastated for a nearly a week. Time to get over it.

My Newest Obsession
I'm as active in Super Junior M's Soompi (a Kpop Forum) page as in TVXQ's page.
Because of that, I'm more than 10 pages behind TVXQ's forum.
10 pages of TVXQ updates is like 20 points behind in a NBA game.
And if this goes on like this, I'll soon be 30, 40 points behind in a NBA game, announcing the zero possiblities of backtracking the forum, which will mean lost of a period of news and on-goings in TVXQ's lives.

Okays.. I'm getting alittle Drama Queen and off-track.

Siwon and Donghae

Although the limelight seems to be on Siwon and Hankyung, Donghae is my sweetie.

I've come to realise that my 2 No. 1s in TVXQ and Super Junior are actually the Dancers of the group.
I've tried looking for Donghae's solo dancers, but he's hardly in the limelight (until the SuJu-M China miracle befall on him), so these are the best I can get.

I'm waiting for the real thing to air.
I hope the cameraman did a better job than this fan's cam.


Like I said, whenever he's not alone, he's not given much limelight.
But at least he's in the centre of the formation in this dance.

Donghae is not the best dancer in the group (Junsu's bestie Eunhyuk is more recognised.)
But I'm consoled by having him in the Top 3 dancers of SuJu.

Happy Birthday PaPa!!

Almost an hour ago was my Dad's *-ty something birthday.

He always splurge so much for our birthdays, so we should express our gratitude for his.
Apparently the fattest kid in the family is not very happy about parting with his Kaching for a slightly exorbitant birthday cake.

So, I actually travelled to get this Sugar-Free cake from Inter-Continental Singapore just for my Dad, who needs to eat healthy recently.
I shan't mention the price, it's abit too.... O.o

My mom contributed by splurging on dinner at Rochester Road's Min Jiang, a place similar to Dempsey but smaller in scale. My dad got abit pissed with the pace of the restaurant. You know how businessmen are finicky with the "Time is Money" thing and my dad, in particular, is not a man of patience.

But you know how Ang Moh's love to take their time on the dinner table, so the 3 of us had to start fooling around in a place with such sophisticated ambience, just to ease the tension on the table.

Anyways, they compensated by giving us a complimentary dessert. It's not the picture insert but I thought this was the best looking dish out of everything else. It's suppose to be some Rose Jelly with Raspberry and Longan.

Compared to my cake, I think this meal is overpriced.
I feel like I'm paying for the ambience more than the food.
Then again, my family is pretty particular about food (delicacies), so non-fussy consumers should do fine in this restaurant.

Okays.. although I know very well that only Sab and I are interested in this topic, but just like how I've started blogging about TVXQ when ZERO people know about them. This needs to be publicized in my blog, since it's the first time I can watch a Korean production without dubbing or subbing.

Let me introduce to you a Sub-Unit from TVXQ's junior, Super Junior:

M for Mandarin, period. I don't think anyone would need any explanations for that.
Some numbers for this new Sub-Group:

4 Korean Nationalities (all Original SuJu boys)

2 Unofficial SuJu boys (the 2 China boys were totally rejected by the SuJu Fans)

This is definitely the first time I don't have to read any subtitles at all.
Yes, I can understand the little bit of Korean that the original SuJu boys used.
Poor Henry (the Chinese kid who can't speak much Chinese).
"Er... 因为我长在加拿大。。。" and gives up. His sentence structure and word of choice totally reminds me of Fel... direct translation from the English language.

I'm expecting more of Super Junior M in the future... Smart LSM (Boss of my beloved boybands), he must have realised the goldmine opportunity in China when the China boy (HanKyung/HanGeng) in SuJu shot to fame in China.

Edison Chen to film movie in Singapore

He said 'I quit' to the Hong Kong entertainment industry just 35 days ago.

But it seems this declaration will not spell the end of Edison Chen, not with his alleged forays into Hollywood and now, Singapore.

A report from Apple Daily said that the star of the recent sex scandal may be coming to Singapore to film a movie, with sultry siren Shu Qi no less.

The movie, said to be a arthouse love story, is a collaboration between an unknown Singapore company and an independent American production house.

A cool $13.8 million has already been pumped into the movie's funds, according to a report by Lianhe Wanbao.

Filming will take place in two locations - Singapore and Chicago.

According to Shin Min Daily news, Edison will play an American student who meets Shu Qi after coming over to Singapore for work, sparking off a cross-country love affair. However, their relationship ceases abruptly due to parental objection from Edison's screen family.

Edison's Hong Kong manager - as reported in Lianhe Wanbao - has confirmed this piece of news, indicating that both the widely-recognised bad boy and Shu Qi have started reading the script.

When you live on the 40th Storey

I just visited the 40 storey high HDB flats in Commonwealth (like a few hours ago).
It makes me feel like living on a high rise building.
Well, I used to live on the 3rd floor until I got demoted to the 2nd floor, and Zw actually thinks that I can continue demoting to the 1st floor. (ya... I'll probably live like Harry Potter in Book 1: Under the stairs in the storeroom).Breath-taking isn't it. I underestimated my guts and sticked my head out of the railings. It feels kind of giddy when you look straight down 40 levels. Brrr!

Tonight, I also realise that I've not visited QSS for at least 3 years. Oh My! How I miss those days... Seeing the Purple skirts makes me reminisce (maybe not so much on the skirt, but on the times we've spent tgt). Ah~

My entire family has been nagging me to get a job.
I kept telling them that I'm trying to find one but they think otherwise.
I'm really finding a job, and the only reason why I've yet to get one is because I'm being too picky, and I can't tell them that cuz it'll only bring me more naggings.

I want 1 near my place, allows flexible working schedules and preferably in casual dresscode. The reason is, I need weekDAYs to learn my driving by June, just in case I need to leave the country for a looooong time in July.

But they don't see this as a problem because I can do my lessons at night, which will cost more and the slots are harder to get and I'm really spending a BOMB by taking lessons in school. My Dad's already complaining about my recent upsurge in Claims.

So unless they Stop complaining about money, and give more generously, I'll make them Pay for Group Surcharge in BBDC and book only the peak hour slots, which will probably cost like a BAZOOKA. And by then, I'll take up whatever jobs that comes to me.

Ah~
Now I feel so much better letting out all my steam.

I do realise something.
Although my brain tells me that Yunho is now only in the No.3 spot, everytime I see TVXQ photos, Yunho is always the first person I'll go looking for.

It's funny how I'm always a believer in Scientific Explanations, where the brain is the one that does the feeling and not the heart, the heart just pumps blood/air to keep the body alive.

And now I'm telling myself that my heart doesn't follow what my brain says. I guess I can only reason myself out by saying that it's just merely a metaphor for the brain to feel and think differently.
